Description
No. 80 Coleman Street is a former house that has been converted into offices. It dates from the early to mid-18th century and underwent alterations around 1800 and in the late 20th century. The building features a slated mansard roof and stands three storeys tall, plus a full attic storey with dormers. It is four windows wide. The ground floor was reconstructed in the 20th century, with the entrance located in the left bay, framed by a Portland stone Doric columned surround. There is a cornice above the ground floor, and the square-headed sash windows have gauged heads. Above the second floor, there is a modillion cornice. The full attic storey dates from around 1800, with the mansard added in the 20th century. Inside, the building retains an original open well staircase featuring turned balusters, carved tread ends, and a panelled, ramped dado with fluted pilasters.
