Description
No. 13 George Street is a house that has been converted into an office. It dates from the late 18th century and has undergone some alterations. The building is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a slate roof. It stands three storeys tall and has a symmetrical three-window arrangement. There are sill bands at the ground and first floors, a top modillioned cornice, and a blocking course.
The ground floor has altered canted bay windows, while the first-floor windows have shaped plaster wedge lintels with keystones. The second-floor windows feature rubbed brick flat arches, and both the first and second floors have four-pane sash windows. The entrance is round-headed and framed by a Doric aedicule, with columns that have fluted capitals and an open pediment. Above the six-panelled door is a fanlight with decorative glazing bars. Iron railings project from each end of the building.
Inside, there is a boarded-over stair, and the room to the left has a rich cornice.
