Public house. Early C19, upper floors refronted 1870s, ground floor altered late C20. Stucco upper floors in elaborate french classical manner. 4 storeys and cellars. 3 windows and 3 window return to London Wall. C20 ground floor public house frontage of recessed windows with glazing bars; entrances on Moorgate and London Wall facades. Upper floors retain diminution of height from earlier facade. Moorgate facade divided into 2 bays flanked by enriched pilaster to 1st and 2nd floors and quoins to 3rd floor. lst floor stucco chanelled to appear as ashlar; left hand bay tripartite sash formed by banded columns supporting an entablature and heavily enriched pediment; right hand bay, 2 single sashes of similar style. Similar arrangement to 2nd and 3rd floors where windows have shouldered architraves and enriched pediments. Main modillian cornice at 3rd floor level; cornice and blocking course. Return to London Wall single sashes similar to right hand bay. Interior altered late C20.
