Description
2 Moorfields is an end of terrace house with a later shop, built in the early 19th century. It features yellow stock brick with stucco dressings and stands four storeys tall with three windows. There is a single window return to Moorfields that forms part of No 2. The ground floor has a 20th-century shopfront with a corner entrance, while to the right is the original doorway to the house, which has a patterned overlight above it. The 20th-century sash windows have stucco architraves; the first-floor windows are shouldered, the second floor has a moulded sill band, and the third floor features a main projecting cornice along with a cornice and blocking course. The left-hand angle of the building is bowed. The return also has a 20th-century ground floor shopfront and cambered brick arches above the 20th-century sashes. No 118A has a cast iron plaque of the City coat of arms above the central first-floor window. This building is included for its group value.
