Description

This is a terrace of six houses built around 1789, located on Gower Street in Camden. The houses are constructed of darkened stock brick and feature slate mansard roofs with dormers. Nos. 95 and 97 have rusticated stucco ground floors. The terrace consists of three storeys, with attics and basements, while No. 91 has four storeys. Each house has three windows, and the round-arched doorways are adorned with pilaster-jambs and cornice-heads, along with fanlights; Nos. 91 and 93 have radial patterned fanlights, and all feature panelled doors. The windows have gauged brick flat arches, with No. 91 showcasing glazing bars. The ground and first floors of No. 91 have bracketed sills, and there are plain stone sill bands on the first floor. No. 87 has cast-iron window guards on the first floor. The terrace is topped with parapets. The interiors have not been inspected. The houses are complemented by attached cast-iron railings with urn finials in the areas. Notably, No. 91 was the residence of George Dance the Younger, an architect, as indicated by a plaque from the Greater London Council.
