Description

Numbers 74 to 80 are a terrace of four houses built around 1787. They are constructed from darkened multi-coloured stock brick and feature a stucco band at the ground floor and first-floor sill levels. The houses have slated mansard roofs with dormers and consist of three storeys, attics, and basements, with three windows each. The round-arched entrances have attractive patterned radial fanlights and panelled doors. Notable features include No.74, which has attached Doric columns supporting an entablature; No.76, where the doorway has been replaced by a small window; No.78, which has fluted pilaster-jambs with a cornice-head; and No.80, which includes sidelights. The recessed sash windows have gauged brick flat arches and original glazing bars. The ground floor windows of No.74 have round-arched heads, while the ground and first-floor windows throughout have bracketed sills and cast-iron guards. Nos. 76 and 78 feature a rendered apron across the fronts below the second-floor windows. The terrace is topped with parapets. The interiors have not been inspected. The houses also have attached cast-iron railings with urn finials surrounding the areas.
