Description

This is a terrace of seven houses, numbered 52 to 64, on Kentish Town Road, dating from the early 19th century. The houses are primarily built of yellow stock brick, with slated mansard roofs and dormer windows, except for number 52 which has a stucco ground floor. The houses are three storeys high with attics (except number 52), and also have basements. Most houses have two windows on each main floor, while number 52 has one. The ground floor features round-arched openings. Doorways have reeded surrounds, fanlights (with intersecting tracery at numbers 56 and 62) and panelled doors. Recessed sash windows on the upper floors have gauged brick flat arches. Cast-iron balconies are present on the first floor of the other houses. Parapets top the facades.

Number 52 has a square-headed doorway with a fanlight featuring pointed lights, and a panelled door. An entablature at the first floor level supports a cast-iron balcony above the architraved sash window, which has a console bracketed pediment. The second floor has a sash window within an architraved surround, also with a console bracketed cornice, and a parapet above. The interiors have not been inspected. The houses are characterised by stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
