Description

Numbers 75 to 82 are a row of eight terraced houses built between 1793 and 1799 by James Burton, with some alterations. The houses are constructed from darkened multi-coloured stock brick, featuring stucco ground floors, with No. 75 having a rusticated finish.

The exterior consists of four storeys and basements. Originally, Nos. 75 and 76 were two houses, each with three windows. No. 75 has a Roman Doric doorcase, a fanlight, and double panelled doors, while No. 76 has had its doorway altered to serve as a window. Both houses feature gauged brick flat arches over recessed two-pane sash windows, with the first floor adorned with continuous cast-iron balconies. The first and second floors of No. 76 have blind boxes, and there are stucco cornices at the third floor level, along with parapets.

Nos. 77 to 82 are also made of darkened multi-coloured stock brick, with No. 81 having been refronted. These houses also have four storeys and basements, with three windows each, except for No. 82, which has two windows. The round-arched doorways have fluted surrounds, radial fanlights, and double panelled doors, while No. 78 has had its doorway converted into a window. No. 82 features a stucco door surround with pilasters, a fluted head, and a cornice. A plain stucco band runs at the first floor level. The windows have reddened gauged brick flat arches above recessed sashes, with balconies on the first floor except for Nos. 79 and 82. There are also stucco cornices at the third floor level and parapets.

The interiors have not been inspected. The properties are complemented by attached cast-iron railings with urn finials leading to the areas.
