Description
Hahnemann House (Number 2) and Number 3, along with the attached railings, are a pair of houses built in the late 18th century. They are constructed of yellow stock brick, with Number 2 featuring a reddened brick and Number 3 showing evidence of tuck pointing. The houses have a plain stucco first-floor sill band and rise to four storeys with basements; Number 3 includes 20th-century attic dormers. Each house has three windows and round-arched doorways adorned with stucco block dressings and keystones, as well as patterned cornice-heads and radial fanlights. The doors are well-crafted fielded panel designs with egg-and-dart decoration. The windows have gauged brick flat arches, some of which are reddened, and Number 3 has a 19th-century ground floor window with a stone architrave and elongated first-floor windows featuring cast-iron balconies. The parapets of both houses have been rebuilt.
The interiors have not been inspected but are noted to retain original fireplaces, staircases, and plaster cornices. Both houses have lead rainwater heads. The property also features early 20th-century wrought-iron railings attached to the areas in front.
