Description

This is a terrace of four houses built around 1791, located on Fitzroy Street in Camden. The buildings are constructed of darkened brick with rusticated stucco ground floors and plain stucco sill bands on the first floor. The upper floors of Nos. 31 and 33 have been partly refaced, while Nos. 35 and 37 have been fully refaced.

The terrace stands four storeys high with basements and features two windows for each house. The round-arched doorways have heads on keystones. Nos. 31 and 33 are distinguished by panelled pilaster-jambs, fluted cornice-heads, radial patterned fanlights, and panelled doors. In contrast, Nos. 35 and 37 have simplified versions of the designs found on Nos. 31 and 33 from the 20th century. The windows are recessed sash types with gauged brick flat arches, and the first floor features wrought-iron and cast-iron balconies. The buildings have parapets.

The attached cast-iron railings with spearhead finials are a notable feature, providing access to the areas in front of the houses. The interiors have not been inspected.
