Numbers 46 And 48 And Attached Railings

Numbers 46 and 48 are two terraced houses located on Maple Street, built around 1777 to 1787. They are constructed of yellow stock brick with painted ground floors and rise to four storeys, with 20th-century attics and basements. Each house features two windows, with Number 46 having a one-window return to Conway Street, which was refronted in the late 20th century. The wooden doorcases are adorned with pilasters and enriched consoles that support projecting hoods, and they include square-headed fanlights and panelled doors. The recessed sash windows are topped with gauged brick flat arches, and the buildings have a parapet. The interiors have not been inspected. Attached to the houses are cast-iron railings with tasselled spearhead finials that enclose the areas in front.
