Description
Numbers 168 and 170 are two early 19th-century terraced houses located on the east side of North Gower Street. They are constructed of yellow stock brick with channelled stucco to the ground floors. Number 170 has a later slated mansard roof. The houses are four storeys high, with basements. Each property has two windows facing the street. The ground floor features round-arched openings, with entrances incorporating fanlights and panelled doors. The ground-floor window of Number 170 has margin glazing and intersecting tracery. Upper floors have gauged brick flat arches over recessed sash windows; the first floor of Number 168 has casement windows instead. Cast-iron balconies are present at the first-floor level of both houses. They are finished with parapets. The interiors have not been inspected. Attached cast-iron railings define the areas in front of the properties.
