Description

The monument to the Christie family is located in St James' Gardens and dates from the mid-19th century. It is a grey granite cross that stands on a square plinth, which features inscriptions on each side. The cross has four cross-bars with semicircular arms. This monument commemorates James Christie, who died in 1803 and was the founder of the auction house, along with several members of his family. It is a prominent feature within the gardens.
