Numbers 19-29 And Attached Railings

This is a terrace of five houses built between 1835 and 1845. The houses are constructed of yellow stock brick with rusticated stucco ground floors and plain sill bands on the first floor. They rise three storeys and have basements, with two windows each. The doorways are segmental-arched, except for Nos. 27 and 29 which have square-headed doorways. These doorways feature panelled and pilaster-jambs that support cornice-heads, along with fanlights and panelled doors. The windows have gauged brick flat arches and recessed sashes, while the first floors are adorned with cast-iron balconies. The houses have stucco cornices and blocking courses, although the cornice on No. 19 is missing. The attached cast-iron railings, which have thistle and spearhead finials, surround the areas in front of the houses. The interiors have not been inspected.
