Description

This is a terrace of nine houses, built around 1790, likely designed by William Paty. The houses are rendered (covered in a smooth plaster) with limestone detailing, party wall stacks, and a pantile mansard roof. They follow a double-depth plan and are in a late Georgian style. Each house has three storeys, an attic, and a basement, with a three-window front.

The terrace features pilasters, a plat band, a cornice, and a parapet. Nos. 26 and 32-35 have rusticated ground floors. Nos. 30 and 31 were rebuilt in the mid-20th century and are not included in the listing. The front doors are generally on the left-hand side, although No. 35 has a right-hand doorway. These doorways have imposts, triglyphs, and pediments framing semicircular arches, with fanlights above, and six-panel doors. The windows are mostly 6/6-pane sashes, with various dormers. No. 35 has a tented wrought-iron balcony. The interior of the houses has not been inspected.

Attached to the terrace is a raised pavement with wrought-iron front area railings featuring urn finials. This pavement was designed as part of a square, facing outwards, along with Nos. 1-14 and 25-35 Richmond Terrace. The pavement is flagged and sits above the front cellars, with railings and lamp holders.
