Description
No. 1 St Mark's Square is a double fronted villa dating from the mid-19th century. It features a stucco exterior and a slated hipped roof with projecting console bracketed eaves and tall slab chimney-stacks. The building has three storeys and a basement, with three windows across its façade. To the right, there is a distyle-in-antis Ionic side portico that includes a fanlight and a panelled door. The windows are architraved sashes, with the ground floor sashes supported by pilasters under a simplified entablature lintel, and a central bay window. On the first floor, there is a tripartite central sash window with a console bracketed pediment and a stucco balcony, while the outer bays feature cornices and cast-iron balconies. The interior has not been inspected.
