Description

Two semi-detached villas date from the mid-19th century and are located in St Mark’s Square. They are constructed of stucco with slated hipped roofs, featuring projecting console bracketed eaves and tall slab chimney-stacks. The buildings are three storeys high, with basements. The symmetrical frontages have five windows, with a slightly recessed central bay. Side porticoes feature fanlights and panelled doors, with a cornice that continues around the building at first-floor level. The windows are architraved sashes. The ground floor sashes are flanked by pilasters supporting a simplified entablature lintel, while a central canted bay window is present. The second floor features cornices, and a central tripartite window has a console bracketed pediment and a cast-iron balcony. The interiors were not inspected.
