Description
1, 2, and 3 Pilgrims Place are three terraced cottages, with Nos 2 and 3 originally forming a semi-detached pair and No. 1 being an extension of No. 2. Nos 2 and 3 date from the early 19th century, while No. 1 was built in the mid-19th century. The cottages are constructed of multi-coloured stock brick with painted fronts and feature slated pitched roofs, with No. 1 having a pantiled roof at the rear. They are two storeys high with semi-basements and each cottage has one window.
No. 1 is slightly lower than the other two. It has a 20th-century trellis porch at the entrance and narrow 8-pane sash windows, with the ground floor window featuring a cambered arch head. Nos 2 and 3 have ground floor openings set in round-arched recesses, with central entrances that have cornice heads and panelled doors accessed by steps with cast-iron railings. The flanking windows are original 16-pane sashes with gauged brick flat arches. The first floors of Nos 2 and 3 also have original 16-pane sashes beside a central blind window, and there is a continuous stucco sill band. The interiors have not been inspected.
