Description

This milestone, dating from the 18th century, is set into the pathway retaining wall opposite number 5 on Hampstead High Street. Made of Portland stone, it has an oblong shape and is inscribed with the distances: "3 1/2 Miles from St. Giles's Pound - 4 miles from Holborn Bars." Number 5 is not included in the listing.
