Description

Old Bank House is a mid-17th century terraced house, located to the rear of an altered 19th-century shop that projects over the forecourt. The rear facade was rebuilt around 1960, and the interior has been altered. The house is timber-framed with a stucco front, and features a tiled, hipped roof with dormers and a central brick chimney stack. It has two storeys and three windows. An altered doorway leads to a panelled approach from a side entrance. The windows are slightly recessed sash windows with exposed boxing. A renovated wooden cornice runs along the top of the front. The interior was not inspected during listing, but is reported to retain some original panelling, chamfered floor beams with stops, and original roof timbers. An original staircase existed until 1960. The building was known to have been part of the Three Tuns Inn around 1721.
