Description
23 Hampstead High Street is a terraced house dating from the late 17th century, with a late 19th century shopfront and upper floors that were refronted in the 20th century. The building has a timber frame at the rear, with pebbledash infill at the front and weatherboarding at the rear, featuring an original gable. It has old tiled roofs and an original brown brick chimney stack. The house is two storeys with an attic and has two windows. The late 19th century shopfront includes Corinthian pilasters that support an enriched entablature, which is flanked by carved console brackets. The shop windows have flattened arched lights. On the first floor, there are transom and mullion casements. The gabled attic has a bargeboard and two-light casements with small panes, flanked by tile-coped brick parapets. The interior has not been inspected.
