Description

27 Denmark Street is a terraced house with a later shop, dating from the late 17th century, which was refronted in the late 18th century and had a third floor added. The building is constructed of yellow stock brick and consists of four storeys with three windows. The 19th-century wooden shopfront features pilasters that support an entablature, flanked by enriched consoles, although the shop window and doorway have been altered. To the right of the shopfront is the house entrance, which includes a fanlight with two round-headed lights and a six-panelled door. To the left, there is a passage entrance leading to Denmark Place. The upper floors are adorned with gauged red brick flat arches above recessed sash windows, with an 18-pane window on the first floor. The building has a parapet. The rear elevation is made of red brick and includes a brick string course at the first and second floor levels, along with segmental-arched, slightly recessed sash windows with exposed boxing. The rear also features a parapet. The interior has not been inspected.
