Description
These are a pair of semi-detached villas, built in the early 19th century. They are constructed of stucco and have a hipped slate roof with projecting eaves and a tall central chimney stack. The buildings are three storeys high and include semi-basements. Each villa has two windows.
Number 4 has a two-storey recessed entrance extension featuring a round arched doorway. This doorway has fluted pilaster jambs supporting a cornice head, a patterned fanlight, and a panelled door, all accessed by steps with wrought-iron railings. Number 5 has a later 19th-century glazed lobby addition to its entrance, with a doorway similar in design to Number 4. Both villas have flat, bowed bays on the ground floor, featuring casement windows with margin glazing. The second-floor windows are bowed and have cast-iron brackets supporting balconies with lattice work and tented canopies, designed to accommodate French windows. The third floor has recessed casement windows. A 20th-century garage extension has been added to Number 4. The entrance extension of Number 5 connects to number 6. The interiors were not inspected.
