Description

Coachroad Cottage is an early 19th-century lodge house located on the west drive of Ickworth House. The building is two storeys high and features partly rendered brick with fish scale slated roofs. It has 2-light casements with leaded lights and moulded mullions. At each gable end, there is a single storey entrance porch that is open on brick piers, with gabled roofs on three sides also covered in fish scale slates. The entrance doors are boarded. The eaves project deeply and are adorned with a dentil course that runs around the gable and up the verge to create a pediment. The oversailing gables have barge boards with pierced lobes, which are also repeated at the porch gables.
