TL 87 NE EUSTON THE STREET 4/44 Euston Sports Club

GV II

House, now used as a club. Part C17, part early C19. Part timber-framed and rendered, with traces of pargetting, part rubble flint and red brick. Set gable-end to street. The older range, on south side, is timber-framed and rendered with plaintiled roof. One-and-a-half storeys: 2 bays: end chimney-stack shared with the Post House, adjoining on east. A small lean-to extension along part of the south side. The west (street) frontage has 2 flat-roofed canted bays with small-paned sash windows: one small-paned sash window in cased frame above. On south, one gabled dormer with 2-light small-paned casement windows. Most wall-framing removed internally: main ceiling-beams visible on ground storey: interior of upper storey completely boarded. Side purlins of roof visible in gable end. A parallel range to the north, L-shaped, single-storey, in flint and red brick with pantiled roofs, added in early C19. Brick gable with chimney-stack on west: 2 tripartite casement windows.
