Description

Euston Sports Club is a house that has been converted into a club, with parts dating from the 17th century and early 19th century. The building features a mix of timber-framed and rendered sections, with some evidence of decorative pargetting, as well as rubble flint and red brick. It is positioned gable-end to the street. The older section, located on the south side, is timber-framed and rendered, topped with a plain tiled roof. This part is one-and-a-half storeys high, consisting of two bays and has an end chimney-stack that it shares with the adjacent Post House to the east. There is a small lean-to extension along part of the south side.

The west-facing frontage, which faces the street, includes two flat-roofed canted bays featuring small-paned sash windows, along with one small-paned sash window set in a cased frame above. On the south side, there is a gabled dormer that contains two-light small-paned casement windows. Internally, much of the wall framing has been removed, but the main ceiling beams are visible on the ground floor, while the upper storey is completely boarded. The side purlins of the roof can be seen in the gable end. To the north, there is a parallel L-shaped range that is single-storey, constructed from flint and red brick with pantiled roofs, which was added in the early 19th century. This section features a brick gable with a chimney-stack on the west side and two tripartite casement windows.
