Description

The School House is a former house that is attached to the village school, dating from around 1850. It is two storeys high and constructed of black knapped flint with white brick dressings and black glazed pantiles. The building features a hipped roof with a wide eaves overhang. On the ground storey, there is one window, while the upper storey has two windows, all of which are 2-light small-paned casement windows with semi-circular arched heads, set within corresponding arched surrounds made of rusticated white brick. The doorway is off-centre and has a rounded arch with a door that includes a semi-circular fanlight. There is an enclosed gabled porch, made of matching materials and style, which is of slightly later date.
