Description
The School Bungalow is a former village school, now a dwelling, built around 1850. It is a single-storey structure that adjoins the former schoolhouse to the north. The building features black knapped flint and white brick, topped with a black glazed pantiled roof that has pierced and fluted bargeboards at the gable. On the west side, there are three irregularly spaced windows, and two more in the gable end. All windows are designed as two-light small-paned casements with a semi-circular arch above and a separate rectangular light below, set into surrounds of rusticated white brick. Although the style is consistent, there are signs of alteration, particularly in the gable wall, which has a blank recess that matches the window openings.
