Description
No. 20 and 22 High Street is a 16th-century house that was divided into two dwellings in the early 19th century. The building has two storeys and attics, featuring a timber frame that is roughcast and plastered in panels, with a jettied design along the street frontage. It has a plaintiled roof and an internal chimney stack with attached shafts set in a diamond pattern. The front has three windows, which are three-light casements with early 19th-century ornamental leaded panes. On the left side, there is a shop window with bull's-eye glass along the top. The entrance features two identical six-panel doors with raised fielded panels and plain rectangular frames. At the rear, there is a two-storey extension. Inside No. 22, there are notable features including moulded joists and a carved fireplace lintel.
