Description
The Old Vicarage is a parsonage house built in 1838, which is now used as a furniture store and flat. The building has two storeys and features a front and rear made of gault brick, with the sides constructed from random flint and brick. It has end chimneys, tumbled gables, and a slate roof. The façade includes a range of three small-paned sash windows set in deep reveals. The central entrance has a semi-circular arched head and features a double three-panel door with a fanlight above. The building ceased to function as a vicarage in 1970. The original building contract, along with plans and specifications, is held in the Record Office at Bury St Edmunds, referenced as 1322/4/49.
