Description

The Elms is a house located on High Street in Ixworth, dating from the early 19th century but built on a core that dates back to the 16th century. The building has two storeys and attics, featuring a timber-framed structure. The southern end of the front is faced with white brick, while the rest is plastered. It has a plastered parapet and cornice, topped with a slate roof. There are seven windows, which are small-paned sashes; those in the brick front have deep reveals and segmental arched heads. On the south end wall, there is a two-light casement window with rounded heads and diamond leading. The entrance features a recessed, off-centre door with six raised fielded panels, set within a plain doorcase that has a flat pediment supported by console brackets.
