Dawes Farmhouse

Dawes Farmhouse is a former farmhouse, likely dating from the early 17th century. It features a three-cell lobby-entrance plan and stands two storeys high with attics. The building is timber-framed and plastered, topped with a hipped plaintiled roof. There is one gabled casement dormer that has a moulded tie beam and cusped 19th-century bargeboards. The axial chimney is made of narrow pink and buff bricks from the 17th century, although it was rebuilt above the plinth level in 20th-century red brick. The windows are two- and three-light casements with leaded lights, some of which have been renewed in the late 19th or early 20th century, while others retain an 18th-century style. A late 19th-century gabled plaintiled porch is located at the lobby entrance, featuring an arched framed and boarded door. The interior has not been examined.
