Description
Deepwell House is a former farmhouse dating from around 1600 and the 18th century. It has two cells, with the larger parlour block from approximately 1600. The building is two storeys high, with the parlour block featuring an attic. It is constructed with timber framing and plaster, topped with a thatched roof that includes an axial chimney with a distinctive original sawtooth shaft made of red brick. The windows are 20th-century metal casements with leaded lights, and there is a mid-20th-century entrance door located in a rear extension. The parlour block showcases good framing for its period, including an ovolo-moulded bridging beam and unchamfered joists laid flat, as well as close-studding. Inside, there is a newel staircase positioned against the chimney.
