Description
Parkgate House is a former farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, or possibly the late 16th century, with mid-19th century remodelling. It features a three-cell lobby-entrance plan and is constructed of timber framing with roughcast. The roof is plaintiled and includes an axial 17th-century chimney made of red brick, along with another chimney from the 18th or 19th century at the left-hand gable. The mid-19th century casement windows have heavy mullions and transoms, particularly those on the ground floor. There is a 19th-century gabled porch at the lobby entrance, which has a boarded and battened door. At the rear, there is a two-storey wing from the 19th century, built of red brick with a plaintiled roof. The interior has not been examined.
