Description

This barn, located 20 meters south-west of Denny's Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It features five bays and is constructed with a timber frame that is weatherboarded. The roof is covered with plain tiles, although it was originally thatched. On the south side, there is a gabled porch. The barn has full-height studwork and primary bracing at the end bays, with heavy oak framing typical of its period, much of which has been reused. The structure includes long straight tiebeam braces, although all but two have been removed, and it has a clasped purlin roof with long rafter braces.
