Description

A barn, likely dating to the late 17th or early 18th century. It is timber-framed with a brick sill and is weatherboarded, now covered with a steep-pitched slate roof. The barn is five bays long, facing north, with a projecting gabled porch in the middle bay. The timber frame features unjowled posts, a mid-height rail jointed in-line, long straight tension braces above the rail, and long straight braces to the tie-beams. The roof is a clasped purlin construction, with two purlins on each slope, the upper positioned on a high collar, and the lower on heavy, inclined queen-posts.
