Description

This barn, located 40 meters south-west of Green Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century or around 1700. It features five bays and is constructed with a timber frame that is mostly plastered on lathes. The roof is made of corrugated asbestos, which replaced the original thatch.

At the center of the south side, there is a gabled weatherboarded porch, likely added later, along with a smaller porch that has a lean-to roof. The barn includes primary-braced studding and a middle rail, with long straight tie-beam braces. The roof structure consists of side purlins, with two tiers of purlins; the upper tier is windbraced, and the principal rafters are notably reduced where the collars meet the purlins. The lower tier of purlins is butted.
