Description
Reading Room Cottage is a house built around 1870, constructed of roughcast and painted brick with a slate roof featuring two rendered ridge stacks. The building has a two-storey gabled front facing the street and a three-window right return. The entrance is located in the right return, which also has a plank door to the left of center. To the left of the door, there is one 2-light casement window, and to the right, there are three similar windows. On the first floor, there are three 2-light windows. The gable end has a single window on each floor, with three lights on the ground floor, two lights on the first floor, and one light in the gable apex. All windows are casements featuring lozenge pattern cast-iron glazing bars. The interior does not contain any features of particular interest.
