Description
This barn, located 15 meters north of Lodge Farmhouse, dates from the later 16th century, with an addition made to the east in the 18th or 19th century. It is timber framed, with parts covered in tarred weatherboards and others plastered and tarred. The roof is clad in corrugated iron and is hipped over the eastern end. The original structure consists of three bays, featuring a central entrance bay, and was extended eastward by one narrower bay. The side walls of the original barn have elbowed arched bracing at the corners, and there is a middle rail on the surviving gable end. One of the central trusses still has its original arched braces. The two easternmost bays have a modern floor, while the roof includes clasped purlins and arched wind bracing.
