Description
Lodge Farmhouse is a 16th-century farmhouse that features a timber frame and plastered exterior with a thatched roof. The building is two storeys high and consists of a single long range. It has various old casement windows that do not have glazing bars. There is a lobby entrance with a thatched porch and a 19th-century half-glazed door. An internal stack is present, with the shaft having been rebuilt in the 19th century.
The interior has been largely modified in the Victorian era. The parlour contains very heavy plain joists and a bridging beam with remnants of moulding, while the rear storey post is also moulded. There is some good quality first-floor framing, and a queen-post roof is situated over the hall. The service end of the house has undergone alterations and enlargement, with the framing in the end chamber featuring thin, widely spaced studs.
