Description
Lodge Cottages is a former farmhouse that has been converted into three cottages, dating back to the 16th century. The building is timber framed and plastered, topped with a thatched roof, and stands two storeys high in a three-cell layout. It features five windows with 20th-century metal casements and three 20th-century doors, two of which are half-glazed while one is boarded. There is an internal stack, with the shaft rebuilt in the 19th century, and a gable stack on the left side. A 19th-century red brick lean-to is located on the left gable end. Although the interior has not been examined, it is noted that the right-hand cottage is said to have some moulded work in the ceiling of the ground floor room. Additionally, there are remains of a medieval moat surrounding the property.
