Description
Rose Farmhouse is a 16th-century farmhouse located on Laxfield Road in Cratfield. The house is timber-framed and has a roughcast render and a pantiled roof. It comprises a main range with a projecting cross wing to the left and a later addition to the rear. The main range has two windows: 19th-century casements on the left and sash windows in flush frames on the right. A doorway features a 19th-century four-panel door, the upper two panels glazed, with a reeded architrave, small corner roundels, and cornice. A substantial square internal stack is present, alongside a smaller external stack on the right gable end. The timber framing is concealed internally, although it is said that the cross wing originally contained a moulded ceiling, now also concealed.
