Description
This building is a tithe barn located 40 meters southwest of Manor House Farmhouse, dating from the mid 17th century, with some later rebuilding. It is believed to have been dated 1653 in iron figures. On the south gable end, there is a re-set datestone from 1652. The barn is constructed of red brick and flint pebble, primarily featuring chequerwork, except for the lower part of the roadside wall, which has a diaper pattern. The red brick parapet gables have been largely rebuilt, and the roof is thatched. The roadside wall includes three buttresses and has eleven slit ventilation openings. There is a cart entrance in the center of a seven-bay structure, with the three northern bays being wider than the southern ones. The roof features stepped butt purlins and later queen struts.
