Description
This building is a former tithe barn located 20 meters north of The Old Rectory. It has a core dating from the 16th to 17th century, with later additions primarily from the 19th century. The barn is a single range approximately 36 meters long, mainly constructed from timber framing and weatherboarding, except for the east end which features red brick with plasterwork on the rear. The roof is tiled with plain tiles at the front and pantiles at the rear.
The oldest section is a three-bay structure at the west end, with a one-bay addition to the west and an early 19th-century three-bay addition to the east that was formerly used as stables and retains its original fittings. At the east end, there is a three-bay cottage that was under renovation at the time of the survey, featuring 19th-century casement windows and a boarded half-door, along with two 16th to 17th-century diamond mullioned windows on the rear. The east gable end displays fine early 19th-century carved and cusped bargeboards, which are similar but not identical to those on the main house.
