Description
Manor House Farmhouse is a manor farmhouse that has been converted into two dwellings. It is dated 1655, as indicated by the floreated wrought iron figures on the south gable. The rear wing is likely from the late 17th century but was altered in the late 18th or early 19th century. The building is constructed of red brick, which was formerly colourwashed, and has a pantiled roof. It stands two storeys high with an attic and features three windows that are flush-frame sashes with glazing bars, set under segmental arches. The first-floor windows largely retain their original openings, although one original opening at this level is now blocked. The ground floor openings have been modified. The entrance door is an inset six-panel design, with the upper two panels being glazed, and it has panelled reveals and a bracketed gabled hood. There is a brick dentil eaves cornice, and the building has matching shaped gables with four convex curves on each slope, showing evidence of blocked windows. The gable stacks have been rebuilt, and there is one later internal stack. To the left, there is a one-storey 19th-century range. Both the rear of the main range and the later wing feature sawtooth eaves cornices.
