Description

Twyford House is an 18th-century building located on the east side of Exchange Square. It is two storeys high and features five sash windows with glazing bars, flush frames, and flat arches. The building is constructed of red brick and has a wood ogee bracket eaves cornice. The hipped roof is covered with pantiles. The ground floor is partly finished in stucco, which is lined and painted, and includes a wood shop front with two entrances. The house holds an important position and has a notable 18th-century staircase. Twyford House, along with Nos 2 and 4 Exchange Square, forms a group with Nos 1 to 11 odd and No 11A Blyburgate.
