Description
No 1 Exchange Square is an early 17th century building that has undergone some alterations. It is two storeys high and features two sash windows on the first floor, which have glazing bars and exposed frames. The exterior is finished in stucco that is lined and painted, with rusticated quoins. There is an ogee brick cornice situated below a low parapet. The ground floor is occupied by a shop with a wooden display case. Inside, there is a hewn chamfered beam. The building holds an important position in the area. No 1 Exchange Square, along with Nos 3 to 11 (odd) and No 11A Blyburgate, forms a group with Twyford House and Nos 1, 2, and 4 Exchange Square.
