Description

No. 23 Thames Street is a 17th century timber-framed building that was altered in the early 19th century with a stuccoed front. It stands three storeys tall and features a heavy moulded wood cornice and a hipped roof covered with old tiles. The upper floors have coupled sash windows on the first floor and a single sash window on the second floor, which lacks glazing bars. The building's upper floors overhang a plain shop front on the ground floor. No. 23 is part of an important group that includes No. 2 Thames Street, Knights Tavern, and Nos. 5 to 16 and 18 to 25 Thames Street.
