Description
Nos 20 and 21 on Thames Street are a pair of narrow-fronted buildings from the late 18th century, with some alterations. They are constructed of red brick, with No 21 featuring a chequered pattern. There is a band between the storeys and a cornice below the parapets. Both buildings have mansard roofs, each with one dormer; No 20 is covered with old tiles, while No 21 has a slate roof. No 20 has wooden casements, and No 21 has 19th-century sash windows. Each upper floor has two windows in flush architrave frames with flat gauged rubbed arches. The shop fronts are plain. These buildings are part of an important group that includes No 2 Thames Street, Knights Tavern, and Nos 5 to 16 and 18 to 25 Thames Street.
