Description
Road Farmhouse is a house that has been divided into two dwellings. It dates from the 16th or 17th century or possibly earlier, with later alterations and additions. The building is timber framed and plastered, topped with a red pantile roof. It features large red brick chimney stacks, one off centre to the left and another at the rear right. The structure has two storeys and attics.
The left dwelling includes a two-window range of 20th-century three-light casements, a central 20th-century red brick gabled porch, a boarded door, and a rayed semi-circular fanlight. The right dwelling has no first-floor windows and features a single-storey lean-to extension made of red brick, with 20th-century windows on the right and left and a central 20th-century door.
Inside, heavy stop-chamfered bridging joists are visible, along with a 18th-century corner cupboard and vertically boarded doors with ironmongery.
