Description

Baymakers Cottage is a house that has been divided into two dwellings. It dates from the 16th century or earlier and has undergone later alterations. The exterior features an exposed timber frame with plaster infill and a red plain tiled roof, complemented by two red brick chimney stacks. The main structure has left and right gabled crosswings and stands two storeys tall. The front has a window arrangement of 1:2:1, consisting of various small paned vertical and horizontal sliding sashes, with 20th-century small paned casements on the right. To the left of the main range, there is a four-panelled door with two lights above, which features a rose and leaf panel under a four-centred head. The crosswings display jowled storey posts and halved arch braces, with a jetty on the right crosswing.
